Hello all! I'M BACK! So, I took about a month off to spend quality time in the ol' home-state, Iowa, with my fab fam and friends. A month with no school or work was amaze. However, I have been raring to get back to Corn-fed Couture and am so happy to bring in this new year with some hot blog topics! I hope you're as excited as I am! Anyway, let me give you a little update on what I've been up to since the holiday break. Well, this week I started my LAST semester of college. So crazy. So scary. Yet, so exciting! And, even more exciting; this week I started my internship at Hot Mama. Check them out at
shopmama.com. So, I am working as the Photo Shoot Stylist Intern, which is super fun and exciting. I've been obsessing over so many of the new spring lines that are coming in. There will be more blog posts to come on Hot Mama, my internship, etc. But for now, can we talk about the Golden Globes fashions?! Yeah, I know I'm a little behind schedule, but I just had to share with you my
Five Best Dressed Nominees from the Golden Globes:
5. Julie Bowen in Carolina Herrera
Ok, so I know this dress made many peoples' Worst Dressed Lists, but I have to say I love it. The fit is impeccable and I love the hourglass silhouette on Julie. I know it was the color choice and the velvet bodice that the critics were so harsh on. But, I love the bold color blocking. And, the skirt color is a nice dark radiant orchid color. Hello, people...that is the Color of 2014! And, I just love the mixing of textures with the use of the velvet. I have to say from hair, makeup, accessories and gown; Julie Bowen killed it.
4. Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior
Again, this was another one that made many Worst Dressed List. I guess I'm totally going against the crowd here for my Top 5. Many complained that this wasn't a flattering dress for J.Law. And I say to those people, 'Um, do you need your eyes checked? Because her body looks rockin.' The gown is super fun, but yet elegant at the same time. I love the winter white, and the black piping detail. I think where it hits her is quite flattering actually. I mean, by no means could anyone pull this dress off, but she certainly does. And, it just goes so well with that badass pixie cut of hers and I love her bold lip color choice.
