Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

In honor of Super Bowl Sunday today, I thought I would share with you one of the greatest collaborations in the history of fashion and sports. Bloomingdale’s launched Fashion Touchdown, a collaboration with the NFL (National Football League) and CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America).

My Favorite Fashion League Helmets

Top Left: Nicole Miller $1,525  Top Right: Marchesa $1,025
Bottom Left: Cynthia Vincent $775  Bottom Right: Alice & Olivia $1,830

CFDA and Bloomingdale’s assembled a team of 48 designers, from rookies to Hall of Famers, to create some of the most fashion-forward football helmets. Granted, these are not the most user-friendly football helmets. I wouldn’t recommend trying out Richard Chai’s helmet in a 9 on 9 scrimmage, but these fab helmets are so unique and each embody their own character. I would love to have the Nicole Miller helmet if anyone is interested in bidding on it for me. It would make for quite the conversational piece on the mantle. Speaking of bidding, yes, these helmets are all being auctioned off at NFL.com and 100% of the proceeds go to the NFL Foundation, an organization striving to improve the health and safety of sports by supporting youth football programs and community sports nationwide. Currently the John Varvatos helmet has the highest bid at $2,276. Bidding goes until Tuesday, so you still have a chance to get your hands on these fashionable football helmets.

John Varvatos, $2,276

Tell me which helmet are you most lusting over? Or even more importantly, I suppose, who are you cheering for in today’s big game?
